Two years ago I had the pleasure of meeting Dr Saray Stancic at Plantstock in NY. She spoke to us about her journey as a physician and MS (multiple sclerosis) patient to Lifestyle Medicine.
What I love about her is her humility.
Do you know what it takes for a well-respected infectious disease doctor to look beyond her conventional training to use food and lifestyle tools to not only heal herself, but also to start a whole new practice?
Dr Stancic has since partnered up with filmmaker Marcia Machado to create this documentary, codeblue:
code blue follows a passionate physician, Dr. Saray Stancic, as she reflects upon her journey from a multiple sclerosis diagnosis to wellness through her own adoption of lifestyle medicine. Dr. Stancic introduces us to expert physicians and scientists who are paving the way to make meaningful and necessary change in our healthcare environment, and in turn, empowering audiences to stand up and reclaim control of their health.www.codebluedoc.com
We are happy to screen the documentary this Thursday March 7th in partnership with the Community Health Center, Inc, here in Middletown, CT.
After we watch the movie together we will have a panel discussion with Drs Anne Bingham, Mahima Gulati, Dipak Patel and myself. (See brief bio on each of us below)
This is for anyone who wants to learn more about plant-based nutrition, lifestyle medicine and its important role in your health and the health of our community.
Whether you’re a health care professional or a lay person, you’ll get something out of it.
And of course we’ll have some delicious plant-based movie snacks for you to enjoy too!
